Description Theatre in Delphi from above, and general view of sacred area. Originally built in -400 / -300, enlargement -200 / -100. The ruins we see today date from the Roman Imperial period. The cavea had 35 rows of stone benches, diameter 60 m. The foundations of the skene are preserved on the paved orchestra. The theatre was used mostly for the theatrical performances during the great festivals of the sanctuary. Below theatre is the temple of Apollon and below him on the right the treasury of Athenians.
